Tomorrow I have to go back to work, after being at home for the past 5 months. A lot has happened since, with Oscars birth as the main event :-)! After 3 months he has grown alot and is no longer a fragile newborn...so I guess he's ready for daycare. Its time to step back into the real world, trying to figure out the new me; a fulltime working mother of two!!

These are some of the illustrations I made for 'De Prijs van de stad Hasselt' an illustrating competition. I already entered it 4 years ago, and got nominated, this time unfortunatly, I didn't get selected.
To enter, you have to make a book for children aged 2-7y. My design is called 'Stadsmussen' and tells a story (without words) about animals who live in the city, for really young kids.

Baking class

Up to this point I've always used recipes out of books or from the internet to bake. But I actually would love to learn it properly, so my sister and I started a baking course. It's really fun and the cakes I've brought home so far are absolutely delicious. Normally I'm not really a fan of these kind of cakes, but it was suprisingly yummy!! :-)

Fall walk

Annabel spend the weekend over at her grandparents. They took her for a long walk and she absolutely loved it. It's a pitty we weren't there seeing her enthousiasm over the mushrooms and the animals. Fall has arrived!

Last Sunday we had a small b'day party for Annabel. I made this chocolate cake (with huge chunks of chocolate) for the first time and it turned out to be quite a succes :-)! A wonder, after having to tripple the bakingtime it said in the recipe. A perfect dessert in the very hot weather!

What is your current obsession?
The fact that I'll be working in Ghent (at five minutes from my house) ,starting from next Monday. And this after having to commute by train for 2,5 hours each day to Antwerp for the past 4 years. Yippy yey!!!

Do you nap a lot?
No, but I would love to do it more.

My baby, when I got her out of bed just then.

I love the weather we had for the past week. Its still quite cold, but it has been very sunny, and you can already feel a hint of spring in the air.

books, my cellphone, an empty baby bottle and a bag of chocolate easter eggs.(which I ate yesterday in front of the tv.)

The pigeons on our roof...their "rookoo" reminds me of the summertimes when i was little.

The uncontrolable mess downstairs. I do think the end is in sight though...the drywall is up and in a while we can start doing the finishing touches. (after 2 years!!)

2. Until I was about thirteen, people always thought I was a boy.

3. The one thing I'm really convinced I'm good at, is skiing. So does the rest of my family, and we just love bragging to eachother about how good we are :-)

4. When I was seventeen I went on exchange to Australia (Perth) for one year. The first thing I did was getting my eyebrow pierced! I lied to my hostmum that my parents wouldn't mind. Now it has left me with two wholes that will never seem to close up.

5. I divide M&M's by color and amount, when Robin and I share a bag

6. Up to the point my two sisters and I left the house, going to uni/college, we used to get into the most dramatic fights about clothes all the time.

For the past 4 months Annabel has been sleeping right next to me...she's almost outgrown her little basket, so in a while I'll have to put her in her big bed in her own room. It'll be really strange not to have her so close anymore.
